I’m Kate Crocker, a legal writer, former lawyer and SEO copywriter. I help law firms and service-based businesses attract more clients by creating reader-friendly website content which inspires trust.
I typically work on the following projects:
- SEO website page copy
- Long-form SEO website articles
- Short-form SEO website blog posts
- Print and digital brochures
- Professional profiles
- Email newsletters
- Media releases
- Chatbot scripts
- Case studies
As a legal writer with a background in private practice, I have an excellent understanding of the type of content law firms require for their target audiences, and how to express legal concepts in plain English. Most importantly, I know how to deliver this information in an engaging way while maintaining a professional tone of voice. These skills are also perfectly suited to the content needs of other service-based businesses.
I’m a trained SEO copywriter, having completed the gold-standard Recipe for SEO Success course. This means that the work I do for clients is written to perform well in search engine rankings, a crucial marketing tool for any business, including law firms.
My legal experience
Before copywriting, I practised law for several years. Areas included commercial litigation, wills and estates and bankruptcy law, before settling into industrial and employment law. After leaving private legal practice, I went on to lecture and tutor in the Law Society of South Australia’s professional training programme (Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice).
My other experience
Around the same time, I started a recipe website, Gluten-free Lunchboxes, which opened my eyes to the world of food writing and digital content.
I’m also a classical musician, having devoted part of my tertiary education to musical study. I have knowledge of music theory, history and literature, and solo and ensemble performing, and can write copy and content in these areas.
