I’m Kate. I’m an Adelaide-based copywriter, specialising in SEO copywriting and legal content.
I’m a former industrial and employment lawyer. After leaving private legal practice, I went on to lecture and tutor in the professional training programme that SA law graduates must complete to become lawyers. I wrote and taught the legal letter-writing course, which is how I came to see the need for lawyers to do a better job at communicating in plain English. I saw a niche for my writing services and set about developing and refining my skills.
Around the same time, I started a food blog, http://www.glutenfreelunchboxes.com which opened my eyes to the world of digital content.
Soon after, I started freelance writing. I’ve ghost-written hundreds of articles for law firms and quasi-legal consultancies across Australia. I’ve written in almost every legal area, including criminal law, personal injury, workers compensation, migration law and employment law.
I have experience in content management, having spent two years working as a content manager in an Adelaide law firm.
I’m also an SEO-trained copywriter and can apply these skills to law, food, business or more general areas. In fact, SEO copywriting is probably my favourite form of writing.
I have also trained as a classical musician, having devoted part of my tertiary education to musical study. I have knowledge of music theory, history and literature, and solo and ensemble performing. I can write copy and content in these areas.
I typically work on the following projects:
- Long-form website articles
- Short-form website articles written for SEO
- Website page copy written for SEO
- professional profiles
- Social media posts
- Social media management
- Content calendars
- Email newsletters
- Media releases
I’m happy to consider any project that you have in mind. Let’s chat!
